It's the same as the o ring on an oil filter...just pull one off and old oil ford oil filter.

Stinger and Stackz - straighten me out here! I went and bought a Fram PH-16 for my '88 TC block and the Fram gasket is noticeably smaller than the original oil cooler gasket. No matter how much I stretch it, it won't stay put over the ridge. Is there a certain brand of filter that has a gasket that works??

Use an old filter ring...it's been heat cycled and will hold shape better.

yeah, also if the ph16 doesnt work, then grab one from a standard ph8a (the normal v8 one that ford uses).

the oil cooler was designed to fit on the stock production block and thus had to seal just like the normal oil filters which is why you can use an oil filter gasket.

probably just goofed something up if I had to bet or like stinger said, you used one that is brand new and not been heat cycled yet so its a bit more stiff.

Grrr, no internet for a week due to work on the apartment building. Not fun.
I've tried my local Ford Dealer and they are giveing me the run around. They say it's comeing from another dealer in another state, well that was a week and a half ago. And the ring I'm looking for isn't all round. But has a notch like thing sticking out. I'm getting it for a co-worker. It goes from the engine block to the adapter. That part number might be the one I'm "getting" if it ever arrives.
    Thanks for all the input.
