do we get the benefit of an svt mechanic if they have one or are we at the mercy of the dealership and have to deal with whatever mechanic they give the keys to? ive heard a lot of horror stories of dealership service and have seen first hand some of the mechanics they hire there with little experience.

Depends on what exactly needs to be performed to your car. Remember, your car is still a Mustang at heart and besides the drive-train and rear suspension shares all of it's other components with the regular pony cars. If you took it in to have the windshield wiper motor replaced I doubt they would have their specially trained "SVT" tech perform the work unless he was the only one available and not busy. If you needed to have the drivers side head replaced for the "Tick" then it most likely would be the SVT tech performing the maintenance.
