Just wondering what manual tranny is in a '87 stang? 'cuz I've bought a manual tranny from a junkyard, and they told me that it was a '87 tranny,
    it is a borg wargner,

I'm asking that, because it seems to get 4 speed instead of 5, and I just ask for a 5 speed at this damn JY...

    thanks!

see if reverse is to the right and back of the shift pattern or if its on the left.

Maybe they sold you an SROD, like 351 said, Push down on the shifter a little bit and see if it slides up to the top left for reverse.

It says Borg Warner on the side? or Did they just tell you its a BW Trans?

If it really is a BW its defintatlly a 5spd.

it says BW in the left side... so it is a 5 speed, and I also notice that the tranny doesn't have any oil in it.. and I also found the ******* reverse.. it is on the right side, and to the back...
