I think Ford did a great job with the back end of the car, except I wanted a little more retro look for the tail lights. I went after '69-'70 look, and tinted the back up light lens, so the light is all one color. What do you think?

Nice. You should get one of those trunk covers from Silverhorse Racing. Also very similar to the '70 Mach 1. I've got one, and its a nice piece. They have pictures on their website.

it looks good, but i would be worried about the idiots that dont know you are backing up and smack into you in the parking lot.

Also, is it legal to cover them? Will the cops give you a ticket?

I've always been careful backing up in parking lots, as I never trust that someone else is paying attention. I don't know of any laws that require you to have back-up lights on your vehicle.

In Utah, you have to have at least one clear back up light to pass the safety inspection.

You might want to rig something up, because that would be illegal and more dangerous to not have back-up lights. Looks nice, tho.

I'm in England, had to have the lights converted to meet the UK specs, and that meant I lost the back-up lights. They are now my turn signals. Perfectly legal here, but I do miss them in parking lots. The only option was to hang a seperate white light from below the bumper on one side (they do that a lot here) but, uh, no. Not on my 'Stang. I just take extra time, pay lots of attention, and pump the brake a lot when backing.
