Keep the vert. I thought about it long and hard before I decided to buy my car from my Dad. I was thinking "well, a coupe is lighter....blah blah." You know, all the excuses to buy a coupe. I finally decided to buy the vert with one simple reason behind it: make more horsepower. So what if the convertible weighs more? Just make more power. Put a bigger head, cam and manifold on it. The car is only going to go as fast as your budget allows. I know I have an asinine way of thinking, but I really can't help it :D. Most people can't drive, so the weight difference between coupes and convertibles will be overshadowed by the fact that the driver doesn't know what he is doing.

Keep the car. Verts look more pimp. :jester:

I thought I had the perfect car; a 1992 triple black GT convertible. The road and wind noise, creaks and rattles finally got to me after two years. I could not handle it every day. I sold it and now have my coupe which I'm very happy with.

I really love my vert. I never thought I would get a vert and then I saw mine and couldnt resist. One of the things I really love is the CDC Style bar when the top is down, im my opinion it looks so mean! Keep the vert, I think they turn a lot of heads, and nothing beats the top down in the summer!!

Im gonna say that I had my vert on the market about 2 months ago and decided to keep it. I went cruisin to the tack with a couple of buddies with the top down and about 4 other cars. Everyone wants to go for a ride in the vert. Keep the car. There's nothing a 100 shot cant cure if HP is really an issue.

Keep the vert. I wish I'd kept my 68 vert. You'll regret it if you sell it.

everyone has their own personal preferences. i have my top down all the time and i wouldn't have anything else. if you don't use it and prefer a hard top, then i would never tyr to convince you to like it.

personally, i love the lowered look with the top down, the tonneau, and the wide tires in the rear. i wouldn't give that up for anything.

people change their minds all the time. you changed your mind about a vert and want a hardtop. i changed my mind about a 1996 vert, so i bought a 1995 vert and am going to sell the 1996 after i get the 1995 on the road. life happens, things change.

Think of it like this. You all ready have a good amount of mods on the car. Heck, maybe just the fact that you have 3.90's instead of 3.73's will make up for the 200 lbs.

Don't forget to yank the weight underneath hood (can't remember the name).

So yesterday I pulled up to a convertible silver mustang w/ 2 girls in it. They couldn't help but smile! Neither could I.

You are in CALI! How the heck could you not want a convertible. I would drive down the 5 or the 8 with the top down 24/7!!!! I just noticed that you are in northern cali. I guess it isn't beautiful there 24/7 like it is in southern cali.

    Well, to each their own!

This is always how these threads end. "Well, I decided to keep the car..."

Well either way i would have a 94/95. I like the looks and the 302. Maybe one day when i have money to waste on looks ill get a removable hardtop so that way i have the best of both worlds.

I'm glad you decided to keep the 'vert. I've driven and rode in both, and there is nothing like hearing your exhaust at WOT with the top down... NOTHING. I was once thinking the same as you. It was when I did a bunch of bolt-ons and was barely cracking the 14's, and my dad and cousin in their hardtops went and ran 14.6 at 14.8 bone stock. I wondered WTF was I doing with this pig. That has since changed. I still think "I wonder what I'd run if I was at coupe weight" but there's no way I'd give up my vert to find out.
