    It is a vortech V-2 off a 1996 3.8

Comes with fuel pump, brackets, lines, all piping, no injectors, no chip, fuel pressure regulator.

Is this worth 1500 bucks? plus shipping?

I plan on adding an intercooler into the system.

Nice find. I think so, but only if it comes with some sort of warranty that the thing is going to work.:nice:

intercooling = less psi (maybe more power if it's running hot to start with)

and a 75 shot > 8 psi vortech... but the power will be there always so it's up to you

btw the worst part of installing that is you have to tap the oil pan to run a oil feed line to it... what if you take it off your gonna have to plug it and the pan would be weakend...

I have a 75 shot....its not as great as ud think. I know people with superchargers. Having the power off the line is what counts. And, thats where im lacking. Even with the 4.10 gears.im getting a 11psi vortech. Intercooling = more psi safely which = more power.

Also, my nitrous system really goes to crap on the top end. It doesn't matter whether im spraying or not, the power isn't there.

Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong. It doesn't have to have an I/C, but it most certainly needs one. Mine runs sooo hot, its unreal. We're gonna have a fish fry on my blower head unit next trip to the dyno. If this thing was intercooled it would make alot more power and allow for more boost. As it stands now, it gets soooo hot I would be afraid to put any more boost to it than what you get from the stock pulley.

It makes so much heat that if I try to make a second pull right after a previous one, I consistently loose about 20 hp just form it being heat-soaked. I have got to get this thing intercooled. :nonono:

Oh and Ganador, 97v6Silver is just being teh ghey. :p Tapping the pan for the drain line is cake. Don't let him try to scare you off; it seems like a decent price so long as the seller is reputable. Oh and it looks like the MAF in that pic is a stock V6 unit, so plan on a new LMAF or the like.

$1500 is a great deal! I got my V2-SQ kit with a Superchip multi pos chip and some spare parts for $1600. I'm running the 3.12" (11-12lbs.) pulley with no problems. Just make sure you get a good tune!!!! I would reccomend getting a chip from Justin @ www.velocitymustangperformance.com

Well, just so I am clear, I am not trying to say that the Vortech is a bad blower, b/c its not. I am very happy with it, I just happen to have a real finicky computer (I hope thats the extent of my tuning issues at least) and an engine that absolutely hates heat. There are alot of guys making respectible power from Vortech'd setups. I think your price is very good so I say go for it.

Now to answer your question, the only other things I can think of are the pump (get a gerator style like the 255 or the like, not the 300 lph that the 99+ guys use), a boost gauge (I just use a Lunar gauge, but the phantom is alot cheaper) and a water temp gauge is nice to have too. If you are in to the gauge look, an oil pressure gauge would be handy for obvious reasons. Other than that, I think you are set. If you need any help or have any questions about the install or anything along those lines or want pics of how my setup looks or just some random views of the engine or whatever, just let me know. Heck if you can get through that last paragraph of a sentence without passing out, I'll help ya install the darn thing. :p
