so ive had the car back for a day, and i couldnt wait to put the break in miles on it. after that, i let loose. all i have to say is :jaw: unbelievable. that differential is beyond words. suspension mods are in my sig, tires are bald Kuhmo ASX all seasons :)notnice: ). i took a twisty back road last night that ive taken many times, so i know the road well. i just kept pushing the car harder to harder. i dont feel like ive reached its cornering limits yet. there is this one turn that i always take the same. when i hit the apex of the turn, i take a quick glance at the speedo, which usually reads 42-44 mph on this turn. last night, i looked down and i was doing almost 50 mph, right at 49. and i wasnt even at the limits. i was downright scared to push the car any harder. one major differece i felt around corners was it seemed to "bite" right as the weight of the car shifted from turn in. im assuming the bite feeling is the power being distributed to the outer tire. crazy traction. i also pushed the car around some turns to see where it would start to get sideways. another thing i noticed was, while fishtailing, the car doesnt snap back anymore like it used to. the whole process is very smooth. when i corrected though, it seemed to take more effort to bring the car back straight, but im just assuming thats from having to drive faster in order to get the car sideways initially.

as for straight line performance, both wheels spin together again.:D and now i actually have traction in 2nd and 3rd gear. upon hard acceleration in 2nd gear, my car used to lose traction around 3k rpms an kind of catch traction for a second, and then spin. now i have traction all the way through, even on a 4k rpm punch. overall great product

i just got back from another spirited drive across town (pre-party) and that diff just continues to amaze me. im not sure if its the tires of what, but when the rearend is about to slip and come around, its a smooth fishtail. there is no jerkiness. hah. im grinning from ear to ear

T2 is a sweet diff...just don't beat it too hard or often on the 1/4 with sticky tires.

:( I was about sold until you said this LOL.

Hey Derek, glad you like it man! Sounds like quite a rush :D .
So are you saying that with 4.10s, your car immediatly grabs in 2nd?

Could you do burn-outs with the Torsen T2 without damaging it?

how come? is it known to be a weak diff? it better not be since its not cheap and not rebuildable.

yeah, my car grabs hard in first and second. of course i dont have the power you have/will have, but its plenty of traction for me. im more amazed with the cornering traction though. crazy.

When i did my research before building my rear up i talked to 1/4 mile guys and auto X guys and the T2 is a corner carver rear diff. They all said the same thing, don't buy it if your gonna be blasting down the 1/4 mile as its not meant for that its more of a twisties rear diff. They said the occasional 1/4 run is fine but with sticky tires you will hurt it. Thats why i went with the Auburn Pro.

yeah, thats what i found when i did my research too. im not a hardcore 1/4 guy though. i much prefer tearing up the corners on the street :D

Hmm, but yea your car is still pretty fast, its definatly not slow. If you can hook in 1st and second then thats saying something....sounds like its a great diff. But you also have those LCAs...so that may be helping traction also now that you have 2 wheels spinning :D.

Your doing your car right...getting the handling and driving ability safe first. then you can throw a power adder. Guess i just live dangerously haha.

    Soft 175# springs up front
    DRAG shocks on SOFTEST setting
    Stock breaks
rest of the suspension is bone stock

And now im going to be throwing over 400RWHP on that setup....pray for me lol. It gets a little scarey sometimes as it is

Man you would proabably laugh at the way my car handles :rlaugh: .
