I have a Ford Parts Interchange book that says a 67 Mustang and 67 Cougar tilt steering column is interchangeable and that a 68 Mustang and 68 Cougar tilt steering column is interchangeable. Does anyone know why a 67 and 68 are not interchangeable? Are the shafts different lengths? Thanks Dave
They don't really tilt like today's cars do....do they? Don't they more like swing away towards the center of the car, activated by the opening of the door?
What what I've read, there are two different kinds. One that tilts the steering wheel up and down, and the other is a swing-a-way type that tilts also. But I still haven't been able to find out the difference between a plain 67 and 68 tilt. Dave
Early 67 had the long shaft steering box like the 65-66. Late 67 and 68 has the short shaft steering box. They are not interchangable unless you change the box too...
I put the stainless steel flaming river tilt column in my 67.............. It is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Highly recommended.
are the 67 & 68 mustang/cougar interchangable? I am also wondering if the 68 cougar tilt steering column can go in a 67 mustang or not. Please let me know if you found out. Thanks l8r2nit@yahoo.com
