I have a 97 coupe V6 and i cannot get more than 20000 to 25000 miles on a set of tires. Anybody else have a similar issue?

I don't think having them aligned would affect it that much. It's proboly the tires and maybe you have too much/not enough air in your tires(this shouldn't affect it that much but if you have all of the above then they add up). Maybe the tires are defective? Maybe you have some of those exploding firestone tires.

the alignment can affect tyre wear severly. if the car is lowered and it wasnt realigned there can be excessive toe in and excessive negative camber which will cause accelerted tyre wear.

My bad. Your right. My dad's vette that hasn't been aligned has alot of toe in on it. It's almost bare. He told me the exact thing you told me.
