i am going to be replacing the wheels on my 66 fastback and i'm looking for some good opinions and pics. I have Cragar street stars (15x6) on there now but i was thinking of weld rodlites or tt II's. i was think on the welds, a 15x4 front and a 15x8 for the rear. i want be drag racing this car except on special occasion. as for the tt II's i was thinking 17x7 all the way around, will the 17's clear everything without suspension mods or do i have to change a few things. Do not really want to change suspension right now just want to get it looking good, then plan suspension changes. i looked at dodgestang's chart for wheels and it shows they will work with stock suspenion. anybody got this combo?

please show some pics of your wheels or give me some suggestions on other wheels

    thanks

Something to consider is that the variey of high performanch tires is much much better in 17" than in 15 inch. Further if you are considering big Discs in the future 17 Inch would be a better way to go.

17's are definately the way to go for performance tire options. Especially since the side wall is not nearly as tall. I personally like the edelbrock 454s on classic mustangs. Not many people have them like the TT 2s and they have a hint of the GT40 look to them. I am not sure where to get them anymore but thats what I would get if I had the money.

I am a believer in keeping the overall tire/wheel diameter under 25 to 26 inches to keep the car low and help with the way these things handle (or lack there of).

    Good Luck,

I had the same prob for my 73. Buddy pointed out that Centerline's website has some great overstock deals on many of their wheels. Got a set of Telstars for approx half price. Haven't seen this style of wheel on any classics in my neck of the woods (all Magnum 500s and Torq Thrusts and TTIIs). Kinda weird also, but at least I don't blend in
