I was putting on a shifter for my bro's 04 GT last nite. I noticed he had tranny fluid all the way to the top of that hole where the ball of the shifter fits into. Thinking back to when i did mine last year, i dont think i had fluid that high. In fact i dont think i even remember seeing any fluid in that hole. How do you check tranny fluid level on a 5spd since they dont have dipsticks?

It should be just just below the fill hole. Open the fill hole and put your finger in it. If your finger fits, you should be able to touch it.

It should take between 3.6 to 4 quarts.

I've heard the 3650s need no more than 3qts of fluid. Because any more than that will hurt the tranny. I think there is a tsb on them. Might want to look it up, or call a dealership.
