Still waiting to hear if my 4 speed is fixable, and how much. I took it to a good shop, but it's been a couple of weeks now. Part of me says screw it, and just get a 5 speed, but if this shop can save the four speed, I think for simplicity sake, may be better. any thoughts?

My four speed is at the shop also.
The guy told me that the internal gears were bad, and could not be located anywhere.
I did a search myself and could not find any.
I went and bought another four speed, a RAD-K, and he said the gears were okay in that one.
Funny though, the rebuild kits with synchros and seals are still readily available.

Grant also told me he hasn't worked on one of those in many years, and was suprised to see one come in, let alone two!

I would go with the t-5.

The only real problem is headers with a foxbody bellhousing, thats what I used for better clutch options. But I think quicktime makes a II bell housing to fit the t-5 and uses 10.5 clutches you would have to check.

I disposed of my RAD in 79~80 and have never regretted it.
