Transmission question

    I am going to buy a new 4 liter car but am curious about a couple of things.
    #1 Is the 5 speed auto the same as the V-8 cars?
    #2 Is the 5 speed manual faster?

    #1 I'm pretty sure the V8 and V6 use the same auto transmission

    #2 Typically a manual tranny is faster with a good driver. I believe you have to get to some pretty high end cars before the auto starts beating the manual.

    Automatics drain RWHP at between 15%-25% / manuals are slightly more efficient.
