I was reading about the TSB's (04-15-06 TR3650 MANUAL TRANSMISSION—JUMPS OUT OF GEAR 2ND AND/OR 3RD—CLASH NOISE AND/OR RASPY FEEL ON GEAR ENGAGEMENT) and I have been having some trouble shifting through the first couple of gears especially when its cold and grinds pretty bad. What do I have to do for the dealer to fix this for me? Do I just go and say I would like this fixed and has anyone done this before?

Yes, just go to your dealer and explain what it does. I had mine done. New shift forks are much stronger.

Also a good time to consider a new or high performance clutch depending on your mileage.

Factory warranty is only 36000. If you don't have a FORD extended warranty (even then you still may be screwed) they will not fix it for free. If this is the case. Driver it like you stole it till it blows, then get a T-56.

alot of people confuse TSB's for recalls

TSB's are for the techs working on your vehicle. if a car company sees alot of the same problem they'll issue a TSB (or Tech-Net Note in my case) for it. it'll tell the tech exactly what to look for and repair. if your car's out of warranty you're SOL, you pay for it like any other repair

Recalls are safety related. suspension failures, brakes, SRS, etc. and are usually covered regardless of vehicle mileage or age. we recently had a recall for for some fuel tank heat shield bushings on 93-97 850's, all work was done under warranty. this was a couple months ago

I get the WRX guys coming all the time wanting their TSB for free when they are out of warranty. All it does it give more information for the technician in diagnosing and making a repair.
