Does anyone know why the exhaust note changes with different tunes. My Brenspeed mellowed out my GTA's were the SCT canned tune makes them louder and more aggressive sounding.
    Why?

Just wanted to say that I've noticed this too, but I can't figure out how the tune can have such a dramatic effect on exhaust note. On my car with stock exhaust and JLT with Bama tune, it's a night and day improvement in sound.

If my theory is incorrect somebody correct me, but im pretty sure its due to the amount of fuel being burned that makes the exhaust louder at any given rpm. say at 2k WOT you are burning a larger amount of fuel with the stock fuel maps as compared to your aftermarket tune that is leaned out. The larger the amount of fuel being burned the louder the "explosion" of the combustion stroke is gonna be and when the exhaust valve opens its a larger volume of gas that will exit the cylinder. Like I said correct me if im wrong but it makes sense to me.
