    hey yall
I need some advise. I have a few turbos at the house right now, but they are all flawed in some way. I have a holset off a dodge that turned out to be trashed. I have one off an rx7 that is way to small, and I have 2 t3 turbos from turbo fords one is off an svo. It has oil and water inlets in the senter section. It needs a rebuild, it looks to be in one pease but has alot of play. The other came off a turbo coupe. It has only the oil lines in the center section. This one is in great shape spins free and has no play. It even makes me giggle when I shoot it with my air compresor to watch it spool alittle :p . The problem with this one is that the exast housing has a bolt broken off in it, that I cant get out. I have gone through 3 easy outs and onetime lodged a piece of an easy out in my arm :notnice: It also has a small crack inbetween the waist gate and where the exast leaves normaly. After all this info here is the question. what would be the best way to solve my lack of boost? Is it best to get the t3 off the svo rebuilt becouse of the water jacket, or can I swap exast housings from the svo to the turbo coupe t3 and call it a done deal? I dont want to use the holset on this car becouse I like having a/c. I also have little funding for this project due to the resent deth of the bigblock in my buick. I can pay for a rebuild but it will take a wile to gather the cash. On that note, how much does it coust to have a t3 rebuilt? That is all for now. Thanks for your time.

If the turbo from the tbird was from a manual car then just toss the exhaust housing on the svo turbo and call it a day.

automatic tbirds had .48 a/r housings.

all svos and manual tbirds had .63 a/r housings.

I take it you didn't think about the fact that you were running that turbo without oil on the bearings when you did that...

Run the turbo that has no play. I don't know why you want to swap exhaust housings...that's a good way to break more bolts.

If it's only got one bolt broke off, don't worry about it. It will seal without that one bolt just fine.
