i have the tweecer installed and when i try to read or write to the tweecer while it is plugged into the eec i get a communication error. but as soon as i unplug the tweecer from the EEC i can then write to the tweecer. am i missing something?
I had a similiar problem to yours. I kept getting a bin error or something when I tried to write to the tweecer while installed to the EEC. You have to contact Mike Glover, but basically either a) your EEC is bad or b) you gotta hook up a separate 12 volt source to your KAM power. At least thats what Mike G. said to me.
www.tweecer.com then go to support. there is a link to the tweecer message boards. That would be the best place to get a faster response.
i bought it off a reputable guy on my local mustang site. the tweecer works it just wont write when its pluged into the EEC.
I had a problem with the TwEECer that was different, but was resolved when I uninstalled and reinstalled it. RC
Make sure the pins on the Tweecer interface are clean and you have a good metal to metal contact between them and the service port pins on your pcm. You don't want any of that clear varnish looking coating you sometimes see on printed circuit boards or any of that dielectric grease stuff on those pins. Later Grady
Might have some of that white grease stuff in the sevrice port. I had to get some of it out of mine Later Grady
i cleaned it just like they said with alcohol, and a couple cotton tips. the guy over at tweecer support told me that the first 75 base units that they shipped out were having the exact same symptoms that i am having now. hopefully he takes care of it.. TwEECer costomer support
Yeah the computer has more than grease on it. It has a gel coating that you probably need to sand off. I had to sand mine to get it off so the pins would make contact.
the tweecer still works. if i take the tweecer off the EEC and write to the tweecer, and put it back on the EEC the tune will work, i just can't write while the tweecer is connected. weird.
