where do u live? i wouldnt even worry about it. if there was such a problem with these filters on our cars, many people would be complaining about it badly right now. my intake is set up exactly as the one in their picture and im very sure water doesnt get into it regularly when it rains. that would be more of a fenderwell mount kinda deal.

Sure wish the search button on SVTPerf was working.... I'd point you to the nice long thread we had concerning the subject of "Particulates" a.k.a. silicon content of the engine oil and K&N filter useage. I sent an oil sample off to Blackstone labratories for analysis, I've had an FIPK on my car for over 10,000 miles now and the report came back and stated the "Silicon Particulates" found in my oil were NOT from contamination via the air filter! Basically, unless you live in a very dusty environment, save your money.
