if any of you remember, i got hit on halloween. i got $3500 from the lady's insurance and i paid the car off and applied the rest towards parts to fix her. i've been working on her here and there when i can, and i'm about done with the repair for now. i'm going to wait until it's warmer before i paint her, i need some new side skirts anyways.

here's a pic of the damage

here's some pics after i skinned a new quarter

the rear bumper isn't bolted on yet in the pics. i got it as straight as i could, the door and hatch line up pefectly. but the tail light panel got twisted a bit and now the tail light doesn't sit flush, i gotta suck it in about a quarter inch. other than that, came out lookin alright.

oh and here some stuff i got waiting to go on. i also have some kyb quad shocks and some maxspeed lowering springs that aren't pictured.

    just thought i'd share! thanks!

    thanks guys

yeah, it's what i had on it before, it's the only one i'll ever get for a hatch. i got a cobra spoiler for it too, doing some touch up work on it though, edges were kinda rough.

Glad to see you're getting it back together. I really like the cobra bumper/spoiler combo. Make sure you post pics once it gets finished.

thanks for the kind words guys!

it wasn't too bad. just time consuming. the hardest part was skinning the "new" quarter. i cut a quarter panel off of a car along with all the structural innards on it. there was a lot of structural parts on it that i had to cut off. after that, i just cut my quarter off, cutting behind my quarter window, then up the c pillar and welded the new one on.

You make it sound so simple to replace the 1/4. I didn't do mine, but it looks tough. This is a picture of mine back in November of 1999. Final cost was $5200.

if i can help it, no mustang will ever go to a junk yard! Ryan, the 66 coupe is my cousin's. my uncle and other cousin, her dad and brother, just did a total restoration on it. i'll get some pics of it next time i'm out there, i haven't been able to work on my car for almost a week, i've been pulling 12-15hr days amongst my two jobs. i've almost got all the major body work done for now, i'm going to go back through and redo all of it (dents and such) before i paint it this spring/summer though. for now, i'm going to put all my new suspension stuff on, i'll keep you guys posted!

Nice job. it's really coming together. I'm happy that everything worked out and you could save her and it didn't turn into a horror story. nice to have a good story come out of a bad situation once in awhile. keep us posted on the rebirth and again looking good!!
