I was thinking of getting dual exhaust for my v6 and i was wandering if anyone purchased a mac cat back exhaust that they sell on ebay motors. has anyone had any problems with it? i was wandering if it was worth the 300 bucks to get it. if anyone has the exhaust that im talking about, is there a noticeable boost in horsepower from these exhausts? i was thinking of getting flowmasters, but im not sure its worth the extra money

i don't know about the mac cat back system, but you won't notice any boost in power. and if you're going to get a dual exhaust system then get a CAI as well. the exhaust by itself is way gay sounding. I wouldn't even get duals unless you plan on doing some serious power upgrades in the future like a head and cam swap and or a supercharger install. Then again, it does look hella cool. 8) I've always liked duals over single exhaust if for nothing else the looks. hehe

I bought the MAC duel exaust and Love it! I didn't notice any real power gains from the duals, but it sounds great and looks the same. Only problem I have is after 3 years my chrome tips are beginning to rust. But hey, nothing last forever.
    Anyway, talk to you later

instead of putting tips just dump it before or a little after the rear end

I have the Hpipe and the catback and a few other mods and nearly pushing 194 hp and 220 tq N/A.

You will get the best gains from the hpipe/catback setup but you will gain something with just the catback.

A guy this weekend on a 03 Cobra changed his catback only from the stocker and added a wopping 25 rwhp! That is not bad at all!

I have a MAC regular flowpath catback, bought it off my friends wrecked v6 for $100, then paid an exhaust shop $120 to build an X pipe and mount it. Sounds f***in GREAT!!! The change made in the 2002+ intake/exhaust controller really makes it sound a lot better. I'll take my laptop down later tonight or tomorrow and get a sound clip...sounds like a danged GT when I crank it up!!! DONT GO FLOWMASTER!! I personally HATE flowmaster because it's all aluminized steel, MAC is stainless. Much better for the long run.
