i have a 83 mustang with the 3.8L V6 with a auto trans.(soon to be a 4 speed). and i was wondering if anyone make's headers for the V6 that will give it a little more power and a deeper sounds.

I'm getting true dual exhaust on it this end with some turbo mufflers. ( my dad has them on his 86 5.0L) and it sounds great so i want them on mine. i know they wont sound like my dads because his is a V8 but i'm hoping they will sound pretty good. anyone no a company that makes some equal length headers for the v6?

sorry for threadjacking but it didn't look like anyone was responding and I didn't feel like makin a whole new one.

Will the headers off of a 96 V6 fit a 2000 V6? My brother has a 96 and he is afraid it's going to crap out on him before the end of summer. I didn't know if i would be able to steal the headers off of his car and put them on mine if that were to happen.

well i dont know much about headers but what are u looking for? longtube or shorty? I know longtube give more performance and sound but shorties are still good. I don;t really know any brands tho.

and my other question is if your brothers headers are stock.. cuz if they are why wud u want to replace your stocks with his?

JBA, BBK and MAC make shorties, and MAC makes long tubes. LTs will give a slight increase in power and change in sound. As far as if headers for the SN95 V6s would fit on a Fox V6, I couldn't say. The 94-97, 98, and 99-04 all have slightly different headers as far as the EGR placement and some other things. But your V6 comes stock with shorty headers, so unless yours are broke and his are not stock, no reason to mess with making them fit.

jba and bbk.. stay away from mac, ive heard alot of people say they leak easily no matter what, especially the LT's.
