Ok folks I'm new here. I had a 98 mustang with v6 and 5gear. Now the question. I want to build a 98 mustang however what I want to do should I use a V6 car or start with GT. I plan on changing K member out, rear end out, going to cobra brakes. Plus Dart Alum 427W block and AFR alum heads. This is going to be a street ride. So is there that much difference between a V6 and GT car? Any info would be helpfull.

First of all you need to ask yourself how much money you want to spend. Secondly how much power are you wanting to make?

You could start out with either but honestly if it was me and I was wanting to put a pushrod 427 in i would start with something that already has a pushrod motor such as a 94-95gt....

    Oh, good luck!

    Base Mustang

I understand what you are saying. I just was thinking that V6 cars are a dime a dozen around here. So the 3000.00 I save on v6 car i could buy a 6 gear tranny. If i remember right, isn't the SN95 a beefed up fox platform. I will also be changing to a 9 inch rear axle. I think the K member will support a push rod motor from 94 thru 04.

if your putting a non-mod motor in there, a v6 is the best way to go. IF you were going to install a mod motor, it would be best to start with a Gt.
