Well, I investigated my leak and it wasn't oil after all but coolant. I believe it's coming out of the water pump. Obviously it needs replaced, is there anything else in there I ought to do whille I have it off and out of the way? I haven't had a very good water pump year. I have two farm trucks '89 and '90 with a 7.3L diesels in them. I replaced the pump on one that started leaking out of the hole in the bottom and not 1 day later the other one started. Also had to change one on a grain truck about 2 weeks before that and about a month later this. Looks much easier to get at on the mustang though. Just wanted to make sure there isn't anything else I need to so while I got it out. Got 150 k on it and I fairly new to working on 5.0's.

    Yeah,

Put in a new T-stat 180 Mr Gasket is good. Also replace the bypass and heater tube hoses. Might also be a good time to put on some under drive pulleys. I went with a Edelbrock water pump and it is really built good with roller bearings and pumps more water than the stock pump.

    Good Luck, Don
