So I'm driving home from my GF last night and I see an accord with a body kit, tinted out, and rims. It wasn't really riced out just a little ground effects not a ridiculous body kit. So I do the U-turn and I'm next to him first at the light but I'm still rolling and I see a bunch of A Pillar gauges. So I think he might have a power adder and it might actually be a race. So I creep past him and he tries to catch up and it took him a while and i was just cruising in 4th which upset me cuz I realize this guys car is slow. But, he had this cocky look on his face and I wanted to put him in his place so I cruised next to him til we got out of the middle of town more.

OK but here is the weird stuff. Right when I pulled next to him my radar detector flipped out then went off and there was one lone car in the distance that I'm pretty sure wasn't a cop car. But he was following us. He would stay back about 5 car lengths and was just stuck right behind me. If I slowed he would slow if I sped up he would speed up. We got to an empty part of town but that other car was still there and my radar detector would flip out and stop so I thought best about racing this guy he took off and his car was real slow just had exhaust I think. But right when the other guy took off and I didn't race the other car behind me switched across 3 lanes and did a U-Turn.

Sorry for the long story but I don't know if I was part of a sting operation or just a weird coincidence but just a heads up. Be careful!

The follower may have been a cop, but I doubt the accord was. That would be entrapment.

Yeah, police can't lure you into committing a crime, but if it was a cop, why wouldn't he have just went after the accord? One night I had a guy in an '02 GT hard top pull alongside my rear bumper coming home about 2 am on the interstate. Anyway, he stayed right on my bumber but in the other lane for about 3 miles not accelerating or dropping back. I could tell it was a mustang by the fog lights, and I litterally was 2 seconds away from punching it, I even turned off my OD. Then the car pulled to my door and the entire interior was lit up with a blue colored tint (laptop), and it looked like he had a camera in the windshield! COP! I believe he most likely was running my plates, but it doesn't take that long. In my opinion if I would have dropped the hammer it would have been because I had too (haha) sort of! Anyways, I hate when things like that happen though, it makes you worried for the next few trips out that that was your warning, now your going to get busted.

    LOL!

    ENTRAPMENT?

    Doesnt exist with street racing...

I guess when a police-woman who is acting as a hooker and gets the perp busted for solicitation, that entrapment right?

Im not 100% on this but i think cops can only radar if they are stationary. I dont think they can radar while they are moving.

Yes they can. I think they just deduct thier speed from what the gus shows or the gun is wired with the speed-o and it does it that way.

Sound like an undercover was watching you two, keep at the track and avoid street racing if possible. Now if your in my situation (and others) where the nearest track is too far then find a place "out of the way" and have your fun.

Street racing is fun...but if there are any "warning signs" like there were for you, I always back off.

I occassionally street race if the conditions are right and this was at 12 o'clock at night and me and the accord were the only cars on the road besides the one following. There are certain roads that are just woods on both sides with no side streets that are good for racing or using my G-Tech. :nice:

i was in this police this where i road along with cops and THEY CAN RADAR WHEN MOVING IT WILL SHOW THEM THERE SPEED AND YOURS THESE TO LCD SCREENS THAT READ THE NUMBERS!!!

JUST TO LET YOU ALL KNOW. most of the time if you like the only person on the road and your radar detector goes off hes already got you cops keep them on stand by mode so they dont shoot a signal out and so people radar detector dont see nothing then when the cop sees a car or headlights he flicks it on and its gets you.
just some insite and good stuff to know

sorry for the double post but just want to explian radar detectors they work off sonar waves a wave is sent out and bounces off your car and goes back to the unit now this happens like 1 million times a second and thats how they work.there are not too acurate in bad weather rain and snow and when alot of leaves are blowing around can throw off the signal.

Sounds similiar to what happened to me in my first stang. I was driving down to Mrytle Beach, SC for spring break freshman year, and on 95 in NC at around 8:30PM I'm in the left lane doing a reasonable speed passing cars in the right lane. Right behind me I could tell by the lights was a Z28, and for about 3 miles he was riding my tail. So when I saw the right lane was about to open up, I dropped to fourth, got up to about a buck, then got right. All of sudden blue lights come on and I realize the Z28 was a cop. 100 in a 70 with reckless driving attached, and the guy was a**hole too.

It is if she acts first. The "john" has to approach her. Same with any crime, but some states, and cities, really stretch the boundaries of legality sometimes.

at least you didnt try to race him, I had a buddy in a trans-am try to race the highway patrol camaro at a light, he didnt realize it was the cops. he revs, light turns he launches, the hp camaro turns on the lights.game over. he got a ticket for street racing, and reckless driving, and his license revoked for like 3 months or something. :owned: .haha ALWAYS check to see if the camaro next to you is a cop in NC.

Some places allow it and some don't. Almost everywhere that I've ever been allows cops to radar while moving except for the next town over from me. Pretty weird now that I think about it.

Speaking of entrapment, the cops here seized a 94 GT from a drug house bust. It's got a blower of some sort(I can hear the whine), some Steeda U/L wheels, flows, etc...

Anyway some deuchebag deputy drives it as his cruiser now, and when he first got it, nobody knew a cop was driving it. He would get poor highschool kids to race him and then arrest them for street racing

I know street racing is illegal, but that is complete BS. I was at a cruise-in a couple weeks ago, and he pulled up and parked. He came over to my car not too long after and attempted to strike up a conversation, so I asked him if it was true if he tricked kids into racing his "cruiser"...he didn't answer, just said "street racing is illegal." and went on his way to talk to some old guy.

Yeah the radar while moving is like only certain states if they have the money to but the stuff they do. PA is cheap so they can't lol
