Please someone help me get this pony to trodd. Ok here is the problem, just installed the 331 w/Trick flow top end kit and when the ignition is on and you turn the distributor, the distributor acts like a switch turning the power to the car off and on. You can here the fuel pump turning back on when you move the dist. At first the car would not turn over , then I ran a ground to the block and it turned over but would not crank. Can anyone give me any advice?
The distributor should be turning the fuel pump on and off. The PIP inside of it is what senses the engine's rotation and turns the pump on, so it doesn't run continuously with the key on. I don't follow your wording with turned over and cranking though. They mean the same thing. If it's turning over, but won't start, see the Cranks OK, but No Start Checklist that jrichker put together.
