What type of Power Steering fluid?

    Anyone know what type of power steering fluid I'm suppose to use in my 06 GT? The owner's manual says Mercon, but it list Mercon V (which is not compatible with Mercon, go figure) for the tranny fluid. I called 3 dealerships, and got three separate answers. Any ideas?

    Mercon ATF.

    The Mercon V is used in the 5 speed Auto Tranny. The Manuals take Mercon.

    also put in some friction modifier.. a friend of mine workked at a ford dealer for a while and he said the made him add it to almost everthing to keep pumps quiet
