She lives!!! Been a long road, but I actually backed out of my garage, cleaned both car and garage, and drove back in -- will go to the exhaust shop on tues. I actually have aluminum cans, header wrap and hose clamps holding what was left of my exhaust together for break in and test run -- what a joke. As luck would have it, I found a sightly used holley 600 dbl pumper, which is slapped on for now, the cobra scoop is on and functional, I cut my hood for clearence, had to take the air cleaner lid and dish it in instead of out, but it all works -- even with a 3" k&n filter. Joeythesaint -- thanks for the x member help, tranny is in because of your method. I will figure out how to post a pic later, but my camera sucks anyway. One question for the club, I put in a knockoff MSD (Procomp) box and my tach is crazy now, jumps all over the place -- any one have a fix? or, can someone tell me a good spot to disconnect the tach so it won't get totally screwed up. will be drivin on tues -- finally. to all: thanx again for all the info and advice
My tach occasionally gets possessed by Satan. I figure I just have a short somewhere that's dropping voltage across it. I plan to do a full rewire this winter so I'm not too worried about it. Glad that idea worked out for ya. Hope yours looked better than mine!
joeythesaint, I also picked up some turbines -- what type/thickness of spacers do you run? any issues? Mine are rubbing at the ball joint.....
