As with all great and popular things, the hype will eventually die down, but when? Will you be able to get a 2006 GT for MSRP or slightly under by X-Mas or will you have to wait until 2007 to get one at that rate?

I paid MSRP for my 05. The dealer I bought mine from has 2 GTs in stock now that are not committed to anyone. Probably won't last the weekend though.

By Christmas, most of us nuts who wanted one all that bad will probably have gotten ours. However, do not expect this car to sell for a lot less that MSRP for a while. I was talking with my fleet mgr buddy and he said that the new stang has brought a whole new group of import owners into the store. The stang is appealing to a much larger demographic than it used to. Many of the 'newer' customers are less price sensitive than previous Mustang buyers.

This is very good news for Ford but not that good for those looking for great deals.

Read an article (Det News??) several months ago, that quoted an "Expert" on auto marketing. The "expert" said 18 months after intoduction, so if he's right figure March 2006.
