I'm doing a 306 swap into my '96 lowered Splash and I need to find local laws & regulations on swapping engines. BTW, I don't want "thoughts" or "opinions" here. I've had too many controversial statements. I just wonder where I can find them in writing. I've seen them online for several other states.... but nothing for NC. The local DMV hardly ever answers the phone here.... and once that I did get in touch w/ them.... the geezer just kept trying to talk me out of it and wouldn't give me a straight answer. He wouldn't even enlighten me on where to find the info. It's also a long drive for me and with my work schedule I'd never make up there in time.... so does anyone know if I can find these online???

Well my first question is where in NC do you live and do you currently have our wonderful new emission laws?

Might as well say I do.... I'm in Burke County... which was set for emissions testing in July, 2005 (pretty well here already).

try the DMV web site. I ahve found good info in window tinting, exhaust mods and stuff like that on the CT site.
