Hey everybody, I just picked up a 6al and was wondering where everyone normally mounts there boxes. I have a 67 with a 289. I was thinking about just mounting it under the windshield fluid container. Any help and maybe some pics would be great. Thanks...

I found a good spot to put mine inside the car above the passenger kick panel. I will mount it using rubber to isolate the vibrations. I thought for awhile about doing it under hood but with the heat and occassional rain/water, I don't trust it. Plus if it gets wet and messes up, you would need to know how to rewire it to get home, so I would recommend mounting it inside the car

On the racing Shelby we mounted it on the firewall, inside the car where the heater used to be....obviously not possible in a street car. I built a restomod
64 1/2 convertible and mounted it between the hood hinge and heater motor on the firewall. I folded a piece of aluminum, attached it to the lip where the cowl and firewall join. The box was mounted with 4 bolts, rubber washers and lock nuts. The wiring harness ran behind the plate, making a natural holder. Looked trick, stayed dry, functioned flawlessly and minimal wiring work was required.

My MSD6A is mounted on the driver's side inner fender well up high just in front of the shock tower. It never got wet there.

i plan on a stealth mounting for mine, either inside the car or on the passenger rear inner fender apron just below the hood hinges, if i mount it it in the engine bay area i'll paint it satin black to match the engine bay paint
