I just got a 99 cobra svt mustang and i bought a chrome exhaust system. I want more horsepower so i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions of parts or upgrades to get and which ones work the best. I thank you for your help.

    Eh, what kind (brand)?

BTW - Congrats & welcome to the site. Most folks do the usual bolt-ons, which consist of (in no particular order):

-shifter (Tri Ax, Pro 5.0, etc,)
-gears (4.10s or higher are a popular choice)
-new rubber (drag radials, Nittos, BFGs, etc)
-exhaust (headers/midpipe/catback - you already have the catback)
    -pullies (example: http://www.steeda.com/store/SPECIAL/udpulleysale.htm )
    -timing adjuster (ie http://steeda.com/store/-catalog/46timingadjuster.htm )
    -K&N air filter, CAI, etc...

does a timing adjuster actually help on a 98 cobra. I was told that with 91 octaine don't even bother wasting my cash.

Skip the t/a if you want and when you are done with your mods, get a chip and dyno tune.

From what I found out modding the heck out of my 99 GT... get GEARS!!!! 410's is the lowest I would go with a stock IRS... but the gears, drop in k&n, b&m ripper shifter, sub-frame connectors are a must, then a performance tune of some kind is all you need until you get blown...
