I painted my ugly needles black and it looks pretty sweet. I wouldn't recommend doing it without white gauges though, :D, but against the white and against the blue glow it looks f'n sinister. Ill put up some pics later...for now heres a crappy one with my phone. I used spray paint but I didnt spray paint it, i put it in a cup and used a brush lol.

Can you still read your odomoeter and trip thing? I was going to take the bulbs out, but wasnt sure. Yeah it really looks a lot better black instead of that orange color.

i used a red sharpie on the back of the needle, worked very well.

Where did you guys run the wires to light up the new faceplates?

How good a job does that do to make the needles more red (including at night).

I was thinking of using some translucent red pearl paint on mine. As I'm running the SpeedHut gauges, I didn't have to take the needles off, so I'd be painting on top of them.

    Where's the new pics?

I didnt want to color it, because I like the glowing effect of the orange needles.

very nice, it makes it look like the entire needle has a red tint, very strong at night.

You take out one of the bulbs (with holder) and remove the light bulb piece from the holder piece...THEN, you insert the holder back in, and pinch the 2 power wires (for the gauges) with the holder, pinning them against the metal contacts of the cluster.
