I replaced my ford c springs a week ago and put tokico shocks on because i wanted a bigger drop. The problem is it doesnt look any lower, i shoudl have gotten a good half inch drop from the springs alone, but i didnt so i took the isolators off the front and back and although its a tad bit lower it still looks 4x4...this is my second pair of springs and im getting damn frustrated that i cant get the stance i want. i can fit a good fist between the top of my front tires even with the isolators off....The back looks ok but the front is terrible... I have 255x40x17 sumitomos in the front Has anyone else had a similar experience? Also i have cam cc plates and tokico struts and shocks
Make sure your c/c plate spacers are properly installed. What kind of c/c plates and pics may help. Also, make sure you purchased the Tokikos made for lowered cars.
yes i did, it was a bundle package I have a feeling something is wrong with the cc plates...they are cheap ass cam ones, heres a link..it didnt say in the instructions how far to tighten down on the strut tower bolt so that could very well be my problem, they have this cheap rubber bushing that the strut bolt sits in.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/94-0...001QQitemZ110204201828QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
the 255/40's aren't helping, they're a good bit smaller in diameter than the stock 245/45's but something's definetly wrong though, when i installed my H&R's without the isolators i could barely fit 2 fingers between the fender and the tire what springs did you install instead of the C's?
The shocks/struts dont have much to do with how much ur car sits lower compared to stock.. it's really the springs that define that. I was pretty sure the C springs were meant to lower only like an inch. Isnt it? If that's the case, then that's your problem. If that's not the case, and the springs are brand new... let it sit for another month. New springs take a while to settle in.
First did you buy this kit off ebay? second it can take up to a month for springs to settle and I believe that those springs only give .5 to .75 inch drop. if you were looking for a better drop you should have bought a COMPLETE kit from tokico from somebody like stangsuspension.com. The reason i say this is because of all the scamers on ebay selling nockoff parts that tend to break or dont work as advertised. I know of two people who have bought springs off ebay that were FORD springs that flat out broke after a only a few hundred miles. if you got absolutely no drop from those springs they more then likely arent what they told you the were.
**** i think i got scammed, yea it was an ebay kit....lol amnit: amnit: amnit: amnit: amnit: amnit: amnit: amnit: amnit: amnit: amnit: amnit: amnit: well i guess im putting my c springs back on
He's definitely right about that...I had 255/40's before my new setup and they were about 1/2" smaller than the stockers I would say. I especially hated the way they looked before I put on the new springs...
