I thought this would amuse the masses of V8 people on this site. Taken from a heavily modified STi. As you can see Mt. Everest in Dyno format. So much for the low end. Just to decipher this Dyno for you, the solid red line is the HP and the dotted red line is the Torq. It was also done on a AWD dyno.

That's why ricers use fart tips to give the impression they have power while they wait for their motor to wind up.

and I thought the mod motors were low on torque...

Sad thing is, noting the narrow powerband, even with 500rwhp its probably only a high 11 second car...

To be fair, it does take a bit for the turbo to spool up. I do have to agree with everyone though. When I put my foot down I like the power to be there instantly. You can't beat a V8 for that.

if its taking that long to spool up, it needs way less turbo than what it has on it...

What's the point of such a turbo...the lag is absolutely ridiculous and the powerband is so short as to be pretty useless...my feelings is that this combo isn't reliable.

it wouldn really be TOO hard to do a twin turbo setup that spools way faster and gets same or more boost...just some y-piping

Cmon guys, lets not hate on others.

Think about it for a second. The car is all wheel drive. The guy probably launches at 5500RPM and dumps/slips the clutch. It's a 6 speed so he's got plenty of room to play around as long as he shifts it well.

A 500awhp STI (or Lancer EVO) is nothing to scoff at... it's a very different car than the torquey V8, thats for sure... but it performs too.

wow, that must be a hell of a powerband to feel past 6500 rpm or so by the looks of it. notice its only making 200hp at 6000rpm, thats silly.

useless power. Id guess a stock 03/04 cobra would take car of that car?
