Help... My current car was my first used Mustang and I didn't get the original window sticker w/ the car. I'd really like to obtain a copy. Any ideas on how or where to get one made?
When the dealer got my car ready for delivery, they cleaned it up inside and out and someone tore the window sticker off and threw it away. I was pissed. I wanted to keep it. I asked the dealer if they can print me another one. She said those come from the factory. So I doubt you could get one without connections on the inside. Sorry.
I work for a GM dealership (i know ), and the sales department can order new window stickers for like $50. i assume Ford might be the same. Go to a dealership, then beg and plead with the sales manager.
email dzeni@ford.com. He works for Ford and can get new stickers for us. However, he told me my car was too old for him to get a new sticker. You could give it a shot though since you have a 98.
I can't remember the exact number of years the cutoff is, but Ford dealers can re-print window stickers for cars up to 5 years or so. That does not help you, but if you know the original dealer you can always ask. I had mine reprinted several years after the purchase and they did it and sent it no problem.
I've heard various #'s as far as how many years they go back. From 5-10 years, with most saying 7 years tops. I've also heard of Ford Dealers actually CHARGING to get it done, when it is something that is free from Ford.
I got mine from him in about 2 weeks from the initial email. I believe he said he could only go back 10 years when I asked.
