So as I am only 21 and most of you are older(no offense), you all probably have had more good and bad dealings with wiper blades. I would like to know the good ones, and ones to stay away from. I was thinking about purchasing Triple Edge blades from Wal-Mart. Oh yeah, i adjusted my wiper blades down a little bit, i really like cleaner look now.
I bought a set of Rain-X blades and they seem to work pretty good. They are kinda expensive tho. I don't know how long they will last, they've only been on there for 2 months.
Whatever you get try to get something that has refills available. Much cheaper in the long run. They might be a PITA the first time, but after a couple times its easy and like I said MUCH cheaper.
I disagree about refills...I've found the blades themselves need to replaced to keep the rubber snug down on the windshield correctly... and from years of selling auto parts, I've found that refills last nowhere near as long as complete blades unless you can't possible come up with the few extra bucks I'd recomend any of the premium brands. I've had very good luck with Bosch and Trico Exact Fit ones...
haha, since when has there been different types of blades. i havent changed my blades on either of my mustangs.....ever. and they both work like new. 03 gt ive had for about 5 months, and the 98 gt ive had for about 3 yrs.
ive had some neofoams for a couple months now and love them. theyre the ones that arent supposed to leave streaks because of only one pressure point. and they better not for $20 a piece.
Wiper blades are wiper blades...all do the same thing. since it barley rains in cali i have the Pep Boys OEM replacements
I have the neofoams for the mach too. Like Handz says, they all do the same thing. Its all on how they look for me, these are alot cleaner looking then your typical ones. here's a quick pic...
I just got some bosch icons from autozone. Currently they are buy one get one free (after rebate) so about $23 for the pair after rebate I have used the bosch micro edge, which usually lasted me 2 yrs. and the anco's which lasted 10-12 months
Not true at all, I have gone through a lot of ****ty sets of wiperblades thinking this same thing. Then I bought the Rain-X ones and its like a night and day difference, they work amazingly compared to the cheap ones! It's like a whole new thing for me having wiperblades that actually do their job, I highly recommend the Rain-X ones!
wiper blades are one thing that i always use OEM on. all my ford's get the motorcraft premium blades. my volvo just got a set of volvo OEM blades(cheaper than ford by some weird stroke of luck).
I suppose that's where quality comes into play. At toyota, we do refills and for frequent customers that's all they ever need is refills. The only downside is eventually the blade arm itself begins to fade and can be an eysore if you look close enough.
i use the michelin version of those blade....i freakin love them. ice and snow cant get caught in the arms like a traditional blade so it wipes better in the winter.
+1 on this. I just upgraded to the 140MPH arms with factory blades and they are way better than any of those overpriced so called premium blades and I use my wipers everyday this time of year with tons of road oils and snow.
Funny how the Southern Cali boys don't give two chits about wiper blades! Wiper blades however ARE important to those of us who drive in less than pristine conditions. I use the Rain-X ones myself. U.M.
