I want it for my 2007 GT. I have the satin aluminum. anyone want to trade/sell/tell me where to buy one??? Oh, and does it even come off easily?
You'll have to replace the entire dash. It's not exactly an applique. If it were, I would have it already, too.
I have it and love it. It does not reflect light like the satin does which posed, at least for me, a distraction while driving. The woven charcoal appears much like carbon fiber. And, yes, it does not peel off. The parts of the dash it covers and "made" that way. You could replace all of them but that would be costly.
Saw an ebay seller parting out an entire interior to an 07 converted prostock 2 weeks back and the fake woven dash was one of the items. His starting price was 250.00 and I did not monitor to see what it eventually sold for. I'd say keep an eye out there, to save some coin over Ford costs.
To buy the parts to make the swap is well over $1,000. The panel over the passenger airbag is the most expensive piece of the puzzle as it is integral with the airbag itself, so you're stuck buying a new airbag assembly.
Have to agree. My soon to be mother in law has it in her Explorer. Looks awesome and feels nice too. hahaha
$1000!?!??!?! It's nice, but not that nice. If anyone is interested the trading idea is still out there, but does the whole air bag thing have a big affect on that?
I originally ordered my 07 with the satin, but went back to the dealer the following day and switched to the charcoal after taking a second look at it. When the car arrived I was glad I got the charcoal.
Weird, My ride has the charcoal over 2/3 of the dash but on the drivers side I have the aluminum bezeling around the dash cluster. Wonder why that is? I love it though
I dont know how to take pics small enough to post on this site with my camera or I would have lots of pics of my car on here. I have a Nikkon Koolpics S1 if anyone knows I'd appreciate the info.
you don't have to take them small. Take them normal sized. The upload them to photobucket.com or imageshack.us Once you get them on their site, they'll give you the code needed to post the image on a web forum.
