Well, let me start off by saying that I hate life. I was driving my friend home and it was raining but really cold. The road was icing up so I was going 20 on a 45 road. I know better to go any faster. Well, I go around this turn that wasnt anything special but hit a nice huuuuuge patch of black ice. The stang turned completely sideways and my friend yells "Oh God, Allan." I yelled "Ian, lean back and hold on!" I took my arm off the shifter and pushed him into the seat and held my arm on his chest so to lessen his impact. I looked up and about 15 feet away is this gigantic tree. So I said to myself "well, no way out, so **** it." So I closed my eyes and waited for it. I hit the tree on the passenger side and the air bags deploy. I got slung into my air bag which hit me in the face. The my knee got jammed into the steering column. Ian came forward a little and my arm came off, hit into his air bag and I guided his body back. He freaked out bc he didnt know the airbags let off this powder. He yells "Allan, get out now!" I knew what was going on and I was in soooo much pain. So I got out and fell on the ground. I crawled into the womans yard and she called the ambulance. I got up and made sure Ian was alright. His dad came and told me "It wasnt your fault and it shows that you have enough character to jeopordize your life to save my son." I thanked him and went and looked at my car. I then walked away from them and just broke down. I saw 4 years of working in Walmart and Golden Corral go to ****. My most prized possession was taken away from me. Luckily I didnt get a ticket. The cop confirmed the speed and damage fit. He told my parents he was proud that i did everything right. Good news is that i can get some new suspension stuff ive wanted and the smoked clear corners and headlights. Another good thing is that my brand new hood, mirror, and rims are totally untouched. I called my girlfriend who is in another state competing for cheerleading and she was freaking out. I got her to calm down. So, Ive broken one of my carpals in my left wrist (my dominant hand), I messed my knee up really badly, my back is screwed, and the arm that held my friend down is bruised badly. What a "great" night. Im so glad Ian is alright. I guess no matter how much you practice being cautious, there is ALWAYS a way to mess up. Hopefully someone can benefit from this experience, aside from me.
