cuz that 220 is n/a and pretty de-tuned at low compression. Stick a turbo on that stang you'll see better numbers on the stang than you will from the neon; without changin internals or rear end too.
that wasn't the point. he said if the 4cyl made 230 "N/A" it would be special, and i was just trying to point out that using the same logic my 4.6 N/A mustang would have needed numbers like 460 hp N/A to be special. and i'd hope you see better numbers on a turbo mustang since you're working with 4 extra pistons. and for the record, i'm pretty sure that a forged internal 4cyl 2.4 turbo engine is rated to handle more hp than the N/A version 4.6 engine before upgraded internals are needed. and i won't be changing engine internals, transaxle internals or axles when i install the stage 4 upgrade, but will upgrade the clutch. and i won't be surprised if the neon makes more hp on the dyno than my 10+ psi intercooled kb setup made on my mustang....and my stock transmission and axles w/4.10 gears on the mustang couldn't handle the 400+whp from the kb because it blew 3rd and 4th gear out of my automatic and put my axles out of action twice, but i doubt if 400+ whp from the stage 4 will start breaking axles and transmission gears on the neon.
