Food for thought: Most car's paint job is the most noticeable thing on it...if you make it less noticeable, then you have to upgrade something else to make a good balance.
Another for instance.... I've seen a flat black primered truck with rust around the fender wells. Throw on a nice wheel/tire combo, you can still turn heads.
Thought of a cool twist on this...
flat black (with the charcoal tint) from the body line of the 94-98, the body line that is right below the side mirror's. Then gloss black from there up with a red pinstripe at the boarder, add some red fog light lenses as well as a lowered stance on 18in rims with a S281 wing, cobra or saleen bumper, side exh/side exh. side molding, and a 96-98 cobra hood...devils ride....
I have thought about doing some flat black stripes or pearl stripes when I repaint the car...now that I am thinking about it. Why not something like the black on black mach1's only in reverse, with a flat black main color and gloss stripes.
It would be interesting to see what the reverse would look like as you mentioned. I wish Ford would have done silver or some other more noticeable accents on the black Mach 1's. My brother's is black and it's really tough to see the accents. To see the side molding labels you have to look for them. I didn't notice them on the car until he pointed them out to me.
Only if you have everyone in town's attractive cousin wearing a bikini riding in the bed. Yee-Haw!!!
'70 Mach I's had a white stripe option. Not the most attractive thing ever.
'71-'73 any Mustang ordered with a ram-air hood and black paint got a silver accented hood. This looks tacky when the silver on the hood is the only silver on the car.
I like the black '03-'04 Machs. They're sleepers. I don't think silver accents would look right, cause the wing would also be silver.
I'm not really sure what they could have done differently, but if I had my choice of Mach 1 and cared about the decals, I wouldn't want a black one.
Look here for lots of flat black cars......still no SN's though.
