This might be a little big for your application.

You're really worrying me about doing my mid pipe this weekend.

There really isn't any worry to it, just make sure you do it yourself. As always said - "if you want something done right, you better do it yourself."

four.six had a hot rod store here in San Antonio do it - and they did a poor job. Appears they must have crossed threaded it using an impact wrench, I'm guessing that they did not screw the nut on enough before applying the impact. We spent 5 minutes with the sears tool for removing the nut, it worked great. Just gotta get that stud out now, before installing a new stud and completing this issue.

stud removal

the process for removing a stud or broken bolt is to weld a bolt to it if it is long enough. if it is broken at or below the surface a screw extractor is necessary. you have to drill it straight in. if the stud is 5/16 for example a 1/8" extractor is used. the problem is the drilling has to be deep enough to engage the extractor. the hole also needs to be straight enough to avoid drilling to the head. this sounds real bad. without seeing it you will need to raise the block high enough to drill it.

yeah those studs are a *****. took us about an hour per stud (trying several different methods and quitting a few times out of frustration). finally using a **** load of pb blaster and the two nut method, we got em out. very frustrating though

You guys are making this WAY too difficult. All you need is two nuts. Thread one nut about half way, then screw the other nut to the stud. Take two wrenches, hold the top nut and tighted the bottom one to it. Then, just loosen the top nut, it will back right out.
