whats up? well im new to stangnet, ive had my mustang about 6 months now. its a 05 roush stage 1. after i bought it i immediately bought a intake and tune. well its ran great with that but now im bored with it and looking for some more power. im going to order some gears next week (4.10's of course) but wanted to get some opinions on other mods that will get me to where i want. i would sure love to pull up to a SC roush and be able to hand it to him. :nice:

cause its a roush i already have axleback exhaust. here were some of my ideas. please give ur input. shorties, x pipe, delete plates, and possibly cams. but im not sure for the money which of them would be the best combo.
btw i also live in CA and would love to keep it smog legal.

thanks for the advice (in advance)

If I had your car I would get a catted X-pipe and a BMR radiator support/sway bar delete. I have both and they along with a intake/tune and axle back have my car running its balls off. Maybe drag radials and an aluminum driveshaft also which are going to be my next 2 mods.

Welcome!

You are on the right path... w/ tuner/intake/ gears and some DR's you'll be able to get into the 12's.

That alone and some seat time at the strip, and you'd give a stock/canned SC Roush car w/ a Sunday driver fits!!:nice:

Dont waste your $$ on shorties or delete plates... soon enough you'll be getting an intake that excludes the delete plates ;)

NastyStang113- not sure i want to go with nitrous. dont have the money RIGHT NOW ANYWAYS for F/I. but since were on the subject. i know absolutely nothing about nitrous. how much is it to fill up the bottle, how many runs till its empty, and where the hell do i go to fill it up?

blackgt460- looked into the "BMR radiator support/sway bar delete" its cheap and seems easy to install. does it rly make that much of a difference? i read its recommended for racing only, is this true? my stang is a DD

chad9350- thats exactly what i wanted to hear. :D i thought a set of "economy" delete plates for $150 would be worth 5-10 hp, especially up top. but thats why i want opinions.

would a set of NSR Cams do me any good? it would cut some install costs right?

I ran a 13.39 @ 104 then all I did was do the rad support/sway bar delete and remove the spare tire and jack and ran a 13.18 @ 105.97. I did have about a ten degree colder day than the 13.39 day but I would def attribute about a tenth or so to just the sway bar delete. Its a cheap and easy 45 minute install and daily driving is absolutely fine without a sway bar.

Who would want to remove the front sway bar? Do you only drive in a straight line?

Seriously guys how many of yall nay sayers have had the sway bar out? I've had mine out for 6 months and can tell you Youll be fine without the sway bar in every normal/mildly spirited driving in the corners. If your gonna run autocross or road course don't do it. If its mainly a dd drag car your looking for its well worth it. Car will transfer weight much better without it.
