    Whats your favorite era?

I also think it would have been cool to see a 69 or 70 Boss 351! Maybe I should build one...

    Whats your favorite era?

A 429 SCJ was next on my list, and then the muscle car market took off and priced me out of a muscle car collection (I'm glad I bought the boss first!) It is pretty well known however that the Boss351 was a bit quicker on the street than the 429CJ/SCJ back in the day. It really is a shame that...

    Whats your favorite era?

Hey 4MuscleMachines, What should we do about this? Is he talking pink slips here? :D My previous statement can be backed up by published works of non-fiction..

    Whats your favorite era?

I never said I didn't like his car. Actually it is one of my favorite cars ever produced. It's a 69 too:nice: (I like the Mauder in garage also, almost a worthy replacement for the SHO). I just just like Boss 351s better... The fact is the Boss 351 was the fastest stock gen 1 Mustang...

Help spec out a Reenmachine track day car...

For ease of maintenance and reliability: 302/5.0 efi (or stroker) is a good choice, aim for around 300 whp. Solid axle in the rear (8.8 is a good for durability and light weight). Watts Link instead of panhard bar (EVM or Fays2) 2000 Cobra/Cobra R brakes up front. Better brakes will...

The Reenmachine DOHC '67 Shelby Clone Convertible Progress

Reen, Nice choice on the gauges! Its good to see something a little different than the standard Autometers. The car is coming along beautifully! I can't wait to see this at one of the shows. Your quality of fit, finish, and paint are amazing. Congratulations on such an impressive stang.

    Alternator makes awful screeching sounds??

If the alt is screeching it usually means bad bearings - time for a new one. Sometimes remanufactured alts are not the best quality and it is possible for it to go bad really quickly.

I think the canted valve cleveland head design is far superior to the windsor style valves. The 4v Cleveland heads flow more air than the Big Block 427 and 429 performance heads. Pretty easy to make 400 crank hp with stock cleveland 2v heads, much less the 4v heads. Also, I'm kind of...

Does Mobil 1 oil go bad?

Synthetic Oil doesn't break down over time like conventional, but you should change it as it is bound to have a lot of moisture in it, and may also be contaminated with fuel, etc...

The engine looks like a 351 cleveland (not a windsor) to me. Cleveland valve covers, & looks like the radiator hose is on the block not the intake. You may want to look up the differences between the two if you are not familiar with them and confirm which you have. The 351c is a better...

    best remanufactured engines

The 400 is a taller deck Cleveland based v8 with a big block bolt pattern built by ford for trucks in the mid 70s to replace the 390FE. The 351m ("modified") is a destroked 400. The only parts interchangable with the 351c are the heads.

    best remanufactured engines

I think I would look into World Products for a 351w based crate engine. Just out of curiosity, how did your 69 end up with a 351m/400?

    Looking for a Classic Stang

To find a nice driver for less than $10k you will probably have to stick with a coupe; the fastbacks and verts have just gotten too expensive and you will most likely have to put a lot into a $10k FB or convert. On the plus side you should be able to get a really nice coupe of any year you want...

    How to make a BOSS'ish 302?

You may want to think about a 4 or 5 speed manual transmission swap or dropping the gears to 4.30, 4.10, or 3.91. That would let you run a better street engine setup at lower rpm with low final gear ratio. The dual plane manifold should be fine for up to 6500 rpm. The biggest changes needed...

Help me choose my wheels 1971 Boss 351: Part2

Frank, How much do you want for the salt flats? What size are they? I may be interested. Beautiful car, I love Yellow Boss1s! I think Magnum 500s look good up to 16 inches, bigger than that I would go with something else. The center blackout with chrome rim always looks good on a...

best 351c build up for street

For the street, get some Aussie heads (Closed Chamber, Small Ports) and a nice dual plane intake, a good cam, and good well tuned carb. The closed chambers have much less trouble with detonation, and the smaller ports will have good TQ.
