    Gauge wiring

Thanks pal, i just did it and works like a charm, steady 5-volt output. The water temp is working good now, but the fuel one doesn't, it pegs the needle. My question now is, how does the fuel sending unit grounds? I saw an old picture in another forum which shows a grounding cable coming from...

    Gauge wiring

The disadvantages of not living in the US.. I couldn't find a Ford CVR, just a Dodge one, and doesn't seem to work correctly. Could I fab a workaround to this issue? Like using a circuit board with some resistances to drop the voltage from the 12V source to the 6V the gauges need?

    Gauge wiring

Yeah, and I thought current might flow magicly through my gauges :nonono: I rewire the gauges and still doesnt work, but I just checked with a voltmeter and seems that the CVR isn't feeding the 7 volts to the gauges, so I guess its time to change that one piece. Thanks 2+2GT

    Gauge wiring

I just finished wiring the mustang, everything went very smooth, and what I thought to be the most straightforward wiring is giving me some headaches. I can't get the gasoline and temperature gauges to make a reading from the sensors. Both sensors were working a few weeks back when I started...

Im about to rewire my car and..

I have everything to start rewiring the car, even come nice connectors I found, so buying a harness is out of the equation; even though that is what I wanted a few years back. Weird, maybe one of the POs had also a GM car and thought that was the way to go.

Im about to rewire my car and..

I have a couple of questions. As a background, POs already had rewire the car, so there aren't any traces of original color wiring, connectors and terminals. The car also doesn't has the reverse switch, courtesy lights, glove box light, heater, nor horn. Here is the schematic I made of the...

    Center Console in the Works

Looks pretty solid, i like it. What are you planning to include in the console, cupholder, switches, etc?

    Is this thing a fuse?

Is this thing a fuse? If so, what are the differences with other kind of fuses? If not, what it is? <a href="http://s54.photobucket.com/albums/g81/Dothang67/mustang%2067/?action=view&current=IMG_1672.jpg" target="_blank"><img...

    Head Light Wiring

Its pretty straight forward if you have well identified the cables involved, here is the webpage I use when I installed mines: Brighter Headlights

    Wiring harness terminal ends

I haven't, you mean an original used harness?

    Wiring harness terminal ends

Thanks for the info 2+2GT, i will definitively check a quote with them. Im from Mexico, and indeed I could make a trip to El Paso, TX (which is the nearest US city) and buy it there, but Im getting very good quality cable. Cable used by automakers like Ford and GM for basicly nothing, I just...

    Wiring harness terminal ends

I bet it is a challenge, but this cable i am getting is almost free, OEM quality. Another issue is i dont live in the US, so importing a harness, after fees and taxes, can get really pricey. I just need a good hobby for this vacations. You say "many" are available, is there one that it isn't?

    Wiring harness terminal ends

Im planning to rewire most of the car electrical circuits (ign, dash, headlights, taillights, horn, turn signals, heater, wiper and radio) using automotive color coded wire. I have some questions for the ones that have done the project, which terminal ends must be preserved, if any? Or could i...

Car dies after 25-30 minutes of use. Help needed.

Do you guys think maybe an old cable could be overheating during the firsts minutes of operation and then suddenly cutting ignition somehow? if so, which cables should I check? In the meanwhile, I will recheck the fuel line to see of there is a pinhole that could suck air as horseballz...

Car dies after 25-30 minutes of use. Help needed.

Didn't worked, I drove without gas cap and it happened again. Also some of the conditions changed: -I just drove it around 10mins, around 6pm, and it didn't had arrived operating temp. -It does crank and starts, but remains about 3 to 5 seconds until it shuts off again. I check the...

Car dies after 25-30 minutes of use. Help needed.

The new gas tank looks fine, but I also check the old one, and it does looks slightly dented on the top. How small do you recommend the hole to be? 3/32"? It does crank, but I have always suspected from the alarm system, thats why I disconnected it, but maybe I need to remove it completely.

Car dies after 25-30 minutes of use. Help needed.

I guess I need a morning of patience under the dash to check that out, what would I been looking for? I did try with different ignition coils, this is the third one. This last time, I didn't try, since I was at a 'not that safe' neighborhood and didn't want to grab unwanted attention. I...

Car dies after 25-30 minutes of use. Help needed.

I used to have the original cap, but I replaced it for an aftermarket one that needs a key to open, may be thats the culprit? How exactly does the vent system works in the gas tank?

Car dies after 25-30 minutes of use. Help needed.

289 1967 Coupe, manual transmission; almost stock. Here is the problem: Car starts fine, but after 30 minutes of driving in the city it dies. IIRC, all the times that has done this, I was accelerating, and just before it dies, I feel how it becomes unresponsive on the pedal, and then...
