Finally got some paint on the car!!!

That is a real nice lookin' color, especially the pics of it in the sun. Like you said the blue comes out. Good luck! :nice:

    Question for those with cages...

I've only put in a handful of cages, but the way I was taught was to cut holes in the floor as your chassis guy. You can also paint the top of the bar and the welds easiest this way IMO. As for the headliner I'd keep enough room to install/remove the headliner, but not too much room...

    clutch fan vs. flexfan

The DC controller will give you multiple fan speeds. It is a nice piece of equipment. I usually wire my fans to run on high due to where I live. I agree about inrush, as long as the rest of the system is up to standard, as you pointed out. That is why I was mentioning the upgraded alty...

    clutch fan vs. flexfan

 My bad! I thought you were talking thickness/rows of the radiator! Ahhh all is good. I agree, more surface area w/as much flow will help w/cooling. I like fans w/lots of flow tho; nice when driving back to the pits or hot lapping it :nice:

    clutch fan vs. flexfan

If you have a radiator that is big and an 'opening' that is not able to take advantage of the larger radiator then you are wasting its capacity. Same as if the fan is too small for the radiator; waste. If you're sitting in traffic and are running a fan that is too small for the radiator...

    clutch fan vs. flexfan

Not to split hairs, but the 3 Mark VIII fans I measured had ~100A when powered on. The continuous current draw was ~30A, which is not bad. Not all electric fans draw that much current at start up or under continous duty. The black tragic fan I measured drew less than 30A on start up and ~15A...

    clutch fan vs. flexfan

That's the DC Controller. It's a big PWM that greatly lowers inrush current. You'll still need a alty upgrade, but the piece is really nice IMO.

    clutch fan vs. flexfan

Too many variables to say. I've read 4300CFM for the M VIII and as little as 1800CFM for ones such as the black tragic fan. The Mark VIII blades and motor make it superior and once turned on you can really feel the air moving. I live in Phoenix AZ and a 2 core alum radiator, stock water pump...

    clutch fan vs. flexfan

That is good advice, but remember some of the taurus fans use the same motor as the Mark VIII fan. I had a Mark VIII fan motor go out on me and went to the JY in search of a new one. Found a couple in Taurus' that had the exact same part # as the Mark VIII. Point being, the motor will pull...

    2 step and clutch pedal

Aahhh... I see. I didn't like using the 2 step at the line myself; you're right too much to 'play' w/. I ended up using it in the box after a half dozen lower than expected 60' times. Like I said before it depends on the clutch engagement point. I liked mine at the top for faster...

    2 step and clutch pedal

When I had a 2 step in a manual car it was hooked to a switch I held in my hand. Are you also using it to control revs between shifts? You know, if you hook the switch to the clutch pedal it will be activated everytime you push in the clutch... there are a few ways around this tho. I don't...

    Stock 93 Roller Motor

I third the AFR 165, these perform VERY well on a stock 5.0 block. Not saying others won't work, but they are what I've used w/no problems. TFS heads also work well, but depending on heads might have to cut pistons. Keep the stock cam, there is nothing wrong w/it. If later you choose to...

    Water Temp Sending Unit

Try another store w/more adapters. Buy a few, use the one you need and take back the ones you don't. Maybe someone knows the size and can help better than me?

Phoenix - East Valley machine shops

I have experience w/Duffee Motorsport, but they are in the W valley. They've done the machine work on a couple of blocks for me and have built my current 377. I've heard good things about Basko's Machine Shop in Gilbert... maybe Dark Knight will chime in. He's had some motor work completed in...

    Water Temp Sending Unit

The threads don't 'mesh' so the probe won't screw into the intake? Sounds like you might need an adapter between the intake and probe. I had to use one and got it at Ace Hardware. I forget the size, but keep the adapter short to keep the probe in the intake.

    Stock 93 Roller Motor

How much $$$ do you want to spend? You can get a LOT of different answers on this and nobody will be wrong, well almost nobody. You can go w/ported stock heads/intake and a custom cam to a package deal from TFS, E-brock, Holley.... I'd assume mostly a street car? Heads, intake, & exhaust...

    600 cfm holley problems

That is some great advice and I, of course, agree. Purchase the Holley Carb Tuning book & it'll save you some headaches. You want to start w/ensuring the floats are set correctly; make sure the car is on level ground and running. Pull the sight hole plug (recmnd laying some towels under the...

Do I really need a new quarter...

IMO that looks like some work trying to repair it, the rear quarter I'd think would be less work. I still haven't installed mine, but I have rust. You might not be as bad since it is dents; pound 'em out and add a little bondo, sand, see where you are at and add some metal glaze. Make sure...
