    Hawk Brake Pads Too Thick

Gentlemen, decided to upgrade my brake pads with Hawk Performance pads for 2002 GT. Tried to put caliper back on and realized the Hawk pads are much thicker than others I've used. I can actually get the caliper on with a rubber hammer, but it is really going to bind. Never had this problem...

    Changing Front Oxygen Sensors

Gentlemen, have a 2002 GT. With 170,000 miles I thought I would change the front O2 sensors. Not realizing that I was looking at the rear sensors, I finally found the front sensors. I can barely see them let alone try to replace them. How is this normally done? From the top or bottom? I...

    Oxygen Sensor Clean Up

Gentlemen, have a 2002 GT. I just received 2 Motorcraft front oxygen sensors which are in plastic bags. I noticed, that what I'm sure is anti seize, is all over the inside of the bag and therefore on the tip. Wondering if I should clean off the tip with carb or brake cleaner or just install...

Suspension Groan Not Squeek From Front End

Gentlemen, basic stock 2002 gt suspension that just started to groan really loud when turning. Replaced rack bushings with urethane about 9 months ago, but rest is stock with about 150K miles. Notice outer tie rod end boots were chewed up when rotating tires and need to replace them. Nearly...

    Brakes 2002 Caliper Rebuild

Gentlemen, recently changed rotors and pads on 2002 GT. Replaced fluid, but now have dragging piston on one side. I guess the 'o' ring got screwed up pushing the piston in. Never changed one on a Mustang, but I usually just pump the piston out and change the ring. Anything I should do or not do...

    Paint Problems

Hi Seth, thanks for your service. My son in law is a contractor over there and is getting really nervous about the area. Been there starting in 2004 and has put in about 6 years. Travelling is what he worries about most. I would like to get your info about painting. I've got to replace the...

    Paint Problems

Gentlemen, have a black 2002 GT. The paint over all of the plastic pieces is coming off at an alarming rate. I needed some body work done and 2 of the 3 shops basically told me I have one of those "Ford paint jobs." Evidently, according to them some of the paint jobs from Ford during at least my...

Steering Rack Removal For New Bushings

Was able to pry rack forward enough to pull our bushings when the mounting bolts were removed. All that work in a cramped space in 95 degree heat and I can't really tell a difference in steering. I'm sure it's better I'll have to load it up and really check it. Thanks for the help. Lonestar

Steering Rack Removal For New Bushings

Gentlemen, have a 2002 GT and I'm in the process of upgrading the bushings in the steering rack. I've read that I just need to disconnet one bolt and the rack can be pulled forward from the steering column. With all the power steering lines and the cramped space I can't see a bolt to remove...

    Replacing Steering Rack Bushings

Gentlemen, saw previous threads about replacing steering rack bushings. Got the bushing today and will put them in tomorrow. Couple of questions. To access rack bushings I need to remove rack or at least loosen it from the K member, is this right? Or do I need to remove it from the steering...

What Would Be Involved In Bringing Back The Tight Feel To My Steering?

Sounds like a great idea for my 2002. Took a quick look and couldn't see where the bushings are located. I must be missing something. Thanks, Lonestar

    Possible C.o.p. Problem

It is mostly constant, but not noticible unless I'm cruising about 1500 revs. More of an irriitation as driving in Houston has that speed a lot. Mileage drop off does hurt somewhat. Just don't know how to trace problem and fix it. Lonestar1

    Possible C.o.p. Problem

Don't think I have any moisture problems, it's possible, but I don't see any evidence of it. I guess then that a COP would fail completely rather than partially? Thanks, Lonestar

    Possible C.o.p. Problem

Gentlemen, have a 2002 gt with moderately rough running engine. Also my mileage has dropped off in the last couple of weeks. At about 1500 revs is runs as if it were missing just enough to be annoying. Still has great power and catches rubber into second with the auto. Wondering if it could...
