Remove heat and install electric heater?

All of the stuff only weighs around 30lbs. I just took mine out, but I don't drive the car at all when it's cold out. I have a B&M tranny cooler I am going to bolt to the floor where the rear seats used to be(no carpet), if I need it a little warmer. It's a lot stronger than a heater core...

    Need a new battery? opinion

I usually use one of the cheaper ones. ( had good luck with Walmarts top one:D ), but now use one of the 13lb ones similar to dynabat. If you don't drive it in very cold weather or have a big stereo system, it works pretty well. It just doesn't have a large reserve capacity. It takes a good...

should i change to synthetic motor oil??

I switched to synthetic at about 89K, and it did start leaking out the rear main.:nonono: I usually use regular or semi-synthetic in the mustang since I change the oil very often, so synthetic would be a lot more $. We have three other newer Fords that use the thin oil, and all I use in there...

    Fly Wheel and Flex Plate

The flywheels hurt more when they land on you under the car as they are a lot heavier.:D

    Draglite Fitment Question

Yes, I have the 15x7 draglites, and on my old notch I ground down the side of the bolt and it had enough clearance. On my GT now, I tried that and for some reason it wasn't enough. I run a spacer on there. I believe it's 1/4". It was fairly cheap from Summit, under $20 a pair I believe. I...

    Hood pins

If you go to the track much, they will look down on locking hood pins. As if there is a fire under the hood they can't get it open fast enough. I've used the hood pins that retain the pins to the hood which work great, and you will never lose them. The first set I had were steel, but I...

12 Second Mustang thinking about NOS

I'm still at 9:1, and the heads aren't ported at all, and I'm using a tremec which takes a little more power, so I guess I'm not too far off. I'm using 1-3/4" longtubes, so maybe that is taking a little more away when on motor. Your friends balanced block probably helps a little too. And if...

12 Second Mustang thinking about NOS

First of all, that's awesome power from that combo. :nice: I have close to the same thing, but TF heads and only got 303rwhp. Have you milled the heads any to raise the compression? For the nitrous, I would get a wet kit, and don't be afraid to run up to a 150 shot. I have the big shot...

    Tremec TKO Shifting improvements?

I've only had my tremec in with a pro 5.0 shifter. Haven't missed a shift with it yet. I do hear from people that theirs are notchy, but I don't have that problem. I use the syncromesh to FWIW.

I have a Romac. It's SFI approved and was about $250 and is very good quality. :nice:

I got my Accufab "Race Version" Throttle body today, OMG its Amazing!!!

I just bought a regular 75mm accufab because I got a 4" powerpipe used, and my 65mm TB was too samll to fit properly. The opening of the accufab race would have matched my powerpipe better, but I saw 2 guys that dynoed their cars with both the race and regular 75mm accufabs with the powerpipe...

Questions about Roller Rockers (Mainly TFS)

I have the TFS, and like everyone said they are probably the same. I would pick from the list of rockers that are recommended by trick flow though. Don't cheap out on the rockers.

Springs on Trick Flow TW vs AFR-165 heads

I have the trick flows and they have worked great with the stage 1 cam. They are rated at .540 lift max, but it all depends on how aggressive the cam lobes are. I believe the track heats are good for .600 lift. The afrs are slightly better out of the box as they come ported, but I've been...

    MSD TFI Blaster Coil Humming?

I had heard about the humming, and went with the universal MSD one instead of the mustang specific one. It's mounted on 3 little rubber pieces and doesn't hum at all. It was also $10 cheaper if I remember right. Just a suggestion for anyone looking to buy one. :nice:

    Will Axles be Necessary??

I would wait until you can afford the 31 spline. There are cars running 10's on stock axles, and a buddy of mine also snapped one on a 13.9 second car running BFG's. It's hit or miss, but you should be alright.

    Torque box reinforcments

I bought some off ebay but haven't put them in yet. They looked ok. As long as the welds are decent, they should be fine. I've welded up my boxes already, but you can't have enough reinforcement there.

    Gear Driven

I had a gear drive in my old 89 notch, but I took it out. It sounded a little like a quiet blower. Another disadvantage I've heard is that they can transmit vibrations. I still have it if somone wants to try it. Not sure of the brand, but it said noisey on it and it didn't look like the cheap...

    High torque mini starter

I went with an autozone one. My 93 came with one, but I cracked it. Can't remember exactly, but it was around $100. I figured it has a lifetime waranty, so I can keep replacing it if I have to. The only problem I had was that it got heat soaked after driving 100 miles on the highway...

    How much HP strokers?

A stroker is a waste with stock heads. The stock heads aren't even good enough for a 302 let alone a 347. :p :D
