its a roller at the moment... the engine in this pic is a fresh 0 mile 2.3 turbo motor..i haven't swapped the pan and pickup yet. still cleaning them for paint.. will also relocate the dipstick when I swap the pans.....install is on hold until the new brake line kit comes in... backorder for 10...

v6 wagons had 8" rears and you can occasionally find them in hatches too...fyi, i have a low mile 8" 3.00 gear posi center chunk for sale if youre looking. maybe 1000 miles on it.. also some mavericks have them too but the width is a little different and some are 5 lug..

I drive 2 pintos with manual steering.. I feel the road more, its less clutter in the engine bay and less things to leak...

little more done, strut arm bushings will be in today and getting ready to order spindles, shocks, rotors, calipers, brake line kit, bearings, booster and master cylinder.... lower control arms are new, uppers are just cleaned up, with new bushings ball joints and some black chassis...

update.... got some color on the engine compartment

the original tall deck is hard to find, I just sold one... but!!!! esslinger has made a run of 2 batches of new talldeck blocks that can be bored to 4inches and they come with thicker webbing and billit main caps... they cost 2300 plus shipping and right now through December are on sale for 2000...

guess its time for a update.... been doing some work to it and gathering parts....ill let the pics talk....

issue solved..... drivers side tensioner was not locking in and would allow slack in chain after temp got up and piston would pull back... replaced tensioner and issue is gone...

KROIL is even better than pb blaster if you can find it..

they have the car at their shop... as it was when they came over to hear it run...

those years of fords are known for the ignition switch on the column separating ..... they are pretty cheap to replace... id check there first....just 2 screws to get to it....

stopped into the shop today and they think its timing chains and guides.....not making any noise until the engine warms up does not make me think timing components..... they are going to put new in if that's what is wrong... I just don't know....

engine came with a 90 day warranty in writing..... so its something at least that hes looking at it..

so the shop I got the motor from came by last night after work.....I handed him the key and said have at it.... it cranked right up and sounded great..... he was giving me this look...... you know the one.... I said wait till it warms up..... so nearly 10 minutes after it started the gauge began...
