Drivetrain Speedo Cable & Cluster Questions

Cool, I'll source a clip tomorrow and put it back together. Should I lube this end of the cable with powdered graphite?

Pic of the cable end and the debris that came off when cable was disconnected. It looks like it may have been a ring of some kind?

Drivetrain Speedo Cable & Cluster Questions

After having my speedometer cable replaced on my '90 7-UP, it soon began bouncing around then making horrendous squealing noises. I disconnected the cable & found some wire debris. Should I just clean off the old grease an relube? I have a feeling the metal debris may be pointing to a bigger...

    Question about loose end links

Got it, but before I do that.. is the gap normal? The suspension on the car is bone stock and both sides look identical. I can clamp it down if needed, just thought it was odd that both sides looked like that an on otherwise great shape LX. Thanks!

    Question about loose end links

Hello all, while under my car today I noticed that my front sway bar's end links seemed "loose". There is a gap where the bushing meets the bottom of the bar (see pic). Also when I tried to tighten it went about one turn but now only the inner shaft spins. I stopped there to make sure I'm not...

    SEAFOAM FTW!

Great info here guys, I'm going to do the Seafoam intake cleanse today. If I remember right, sometimes the EEC needs to re-learn. After correcting any problem in my old '89 I'd give it at least a few days driving to see if the computer corrects itself. I'm no diagnostic guy tho, if someone...

    7-up cruiser

Turbines are too much work to clean for a Driver, at least for me :ack: Money's an issue right now and time ain't, so I think i'm going to strip and repaint my ponies satin black and maybe polish the lips, if I feel daring. This will be my first time restoring a wheel, so if you have any...

    7-up cruiser

Good advice! I used a Rug Doctor that I rented at a Grocery store. It is just a "spray n suck" machine, no actual heater or steam. With the seats bolted in, the carpet looks pretty nice. In fact the floor mats make it look WORSE now. I cleaned them too, but they were pretty scary.

stock exhaust with smog stuff. (so cal)

Your price is actually decent if everything is clean and works. The problem is, it may take you time to sell it. Your basically waiting for some one who has a "back to stock" frenzy or a shop that's fixing a customer's car. It's a rare window of opportunity :/ Maybe you can call around at...
