How to put together an interior with a 8-point cage???

Thanks guys. I think you are right...it's just going to take a lot of time and careful work. There is a guy that teaches upolhstry at the local votech that lives close to me. He does some work on the side so I might have him help me out for a good price. I've heard stories like you talked...

How to put together an interior with a 8-point cage???

I recently had a 8-point roll cage installed in my 68 mustang coupe. It is very similar to a 6-point with two bars connecting to the floor near the pedals, two connections for the loop behind the front two seats, and two bars that run through the rear speaker openings to connect to the rear...

    Hooking up a 408 stroker

As of right now I haven't taken it to the track to get any times. It isn't worth it if you go past half throttle and you just spin on the street...you know it isn't going to do that much better at the track. At 65 mph if you floor it, it just spins...kind of dangerous. I think switching to...

    Hooking up a 408 stroker

The springs are brand new. If I don't cut them, what kind of drop over stock springs with a 302 can I expect?

    Hooking up a 408 stroker

I just completed the install of my new 408 storker. As expected I am having extreme problems with hooking it up. My current setup on my 68 Mustang Coupe is the following: 1. 9", 3:50 gears with open differential (soon to be a Detroit Locker, 4:11) 2. Rancho 9000 series, 9-way adjustable rear...

Meanest mufflers for a 408 stoker?

If I was to switch to a different muffler would it be worth switching from 2 1/2" to 3" exhaust? I expect to see 500 hp/tq from this motor and I want it to breath as good as possible. How much power do you think it would be worth switching to larger exhaust? Would it justify the cost?

Meanest mufflers for a 408 stoker?

Yea...I'm not a big fan of magnaflow because they don't sound good until you get on it.

Meanest mufflers for a 408 stoker?

I'm installing a 408 stoker in my 68 stang. It has a cam with over .600 lift so it should thump pretty good. My current exhaust system is a custom bent 2-1/2" pipe with x-pipe and dual 40 series flowmasters dumped out back. I want an exhaust system that will sound mean as hell and be as loud...

    Hurst V-Matic 2 Shifter

I have one of these shifters installed on a C4 tranny in a 68 mustang. The first installation was done on my old trans (24 spline) by a trans shop. Just recently I did a swap myself for a 26 spline C4. Unfortunately I did not take out the old trans to see how the shifter was hooked up to the...

How much will a stock driveshaft handle?

I have a 68 mustang coupe with a stock driveshaft and I was wondering what would be the torque limit for that shaft. I am running a 408W stroker with a C4 and a 9" with 4.11 gears. I also run MT ET Streets. I would estimate the torque well above 500 ft/lbs currently.

    Ported 351W heads vs. Aftermarket

So I called AFR to see what they thought about this and I talked to Steve and he said that they have compared some "good" ported stock 351W heads and they have been able to compete with most aftermarket heads. He said that a professional, not a garage-do-yourself type port job can flow the same...

    Ported 351W heads vs. Aftermarket

The builder is swapping me my old 302 engine for a 351W and I'm giving him 6k to build it. He claims it will make enough power to run me in the 10s if I can get it to hook. He claims by using the stock heads and porting them that he can do it for that money. I just gave him the money and he...

How do I hook up 600hp?

Calvert Racing thought their own 90/10 shock would be to aggressive for a street/strip car. If I was going to use the car more for dragging they would have recommended that. They thought the comp e 3 way adjustable offered more flexability. They also thought it would be worth trying the 620...

New Edelbrock IAS Shocks for sale for a 64-70 mustang

I purchased brand new Edelbrock Performer IAS Monotube shocks for my 68 mustang last fall with the Grab-A-Track suspension kit from Mustang Plus. I have 2 rear shocks and 2 front shocks. I never installed the shocks last fall or over the winter, they just sat in the garage. This past week I did...

    Ported 351W heads vs. Aftermarket

I had wrote in a previous thread that I was building a 10 sec 68 mustang and that my engine builder is using stock 1971 351W heads and is polishing and porting them. He is increasing the valve size I assume (I don't know the specifics). Some of you spoke of some concern that it is not possible...

How do I hook up 600hp?

I still have my stock springs on the car. Should I keep them on and just put the front Comp. Engr. shocks on only? I really wanted to lower the front of the car though...how can I do both?
